Today in the city of Rab, the Agreement on the allocation of grants for the project " Reconstruction of the port of Rab (phase 1 - part 2) and the access road ", worth 14.394.109,50 euros, was signed.

The contract was signed by the Rab County Port Authority as the beneficiary, the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and the Central Agency for Finance and Contracting of European Union Programmes and Projects, as intermediary bodies. The Town of Rab is also a partner in the project.

The project was submitted to the Open Grant Procedure within the Call for Co-financing of Port Infrastructure and Utility Berths, announced by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure. The application was submitted jointly by the Rab County Port Authority and the City of Rab.

The planned reconstruction includes a section of the coastal line about 400 meters long, from the Grand area to the roundabout, as well as the construction of three communal jetties, each about 70 meters long. This will ensure around 100 new communal connections. The project also includes reconstruction of the access road - from the roundabout to the Slavija parking lot, and from the Slavija parking lot to Cape Sv. Ante, that is, to the catamaran pier.

The total value of the project is 14.394.109,50 euros, of which 14.362.859,50 euros are secured by this contract. Activities implemented by the Rab County Port Authority have been allocated 10.371.547,00 euros, while activities of the City of Rab amount to 3.991.312,50 euros.

This project continues the comprehensive development of the port of Rab, which began with the reconstruction of the main breakwater Pumpurela, then continued with the reconstruction of 400 meters of the coast and the construction of a secondary breakwater for the protection of the port, while the current project represents a new phase of development of the communal part of the port with a significant increase in the number of communal berths.
